The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer who stated that the alternator had failed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that while reversing out of the driveway, the brakes erroneously activated, and vehicle independently stopped. The contact stated that the taillights would blink, and the radio would turn on independently. There were no warning lights. The contact took the vehicle to another dealer who diagnosed that there was an engine wiring harness that had been damaged by water, corrosion, and partly melted. The wiring harnesses needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact of the failure was also related to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 21V957000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 21V068000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
