Vehicle ran a little hot, would not accelerate above 80 mph. A couple of weeks later, the brake and battery lights came on while driving, and engine overheated after driving less than 3 miles at speeds less than 20 mph. 2 days later, while trying to get the car to the shop on the interstate, the lights came on while the engine overheated to maximum dangerous levels at speeds of less than 40 mph. At that point, we towed the car.
First, I was told the drive belts and tensioner pulley needed replacing; after that was done it was fine. Then, I got a call that the ac compressor clutch was binding with the pulley causing a squealing noise (I had no ac issues or noises when I delivered the vehicle to them). I never got an explanation that made sense for why my ac compressor was damaged, but worked fine blowing cold air when I brought it in. I had to pay the bill to get my car which I needed - $1544 total. When I asked if this was a common problem, the service rep said not common, but he had seen it before.
