Check Engine light came on 10 miles out of the used car lot, P0420. My mechanic suggested I wait to fix it...the car lasted three and a half years without needing to replace the cat and never ended up showing any of the usual symptoms. Head gasket ended up blowing at 139,000 miles and that was the end of my Sentra. My mechanic said don't even bother fixing it.

Sentra 1.8L

why? seriously why is the cc connected to the whole damn intake manifold. if it were a simple unbolt and connect i could have done this for a quarter of the cost, but no! gotta take it to someone who can weld. and then after about 6 months, my engine light came on for the o2 sensors that were replaced ( by my husband) shortly after... why do you do this to me!

Sentra 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

I purchased my 2005 Nissan Sentra in 11/10 with approximately 35,000 miles on it. Less than 100 miles into driving it, the engine light came on, found to be the catalytic converter. Fortunately it was covered under an extended warranty and replaced at no charge.
