I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. I share the same problem as thousands of other Ram owners who have a faulty ABS module in their trucks. They are not under recall, Ram/Dodge/Stellantis could not be bothered to dig further into the problem. They have discontinued the part (68228991AD) and similar cross reference part numbers. My ABS doesn't engage and when someone uses an unsafe driving maneuver in the middle of the interstate and I have to slam the brakes, my truck goes into "limp" mode and the ABS doesn't function properly. Someone is going to die if Stellantis doesn't address the issue from their faulty parts. I called several dealerships who say they don't have the part, and that they do not expect to get anymore due to discontinuation of the part. After doing some research online, it appears that thousand of vehicles with that part from 2014-2016 are affected. Please help us take action and hold the auto brand accountable for negligent handling of a manufacturer issue not replacing or providing solution for parts that are critical to driver's safety. When attempting to brake the vehicle's brake peddle does not engage and goes directly to the floor without engaging the vehicle's brakes. The vehicle has been inspected by numerous RAM dealers going back to 2015, and until 2024, no dealer had been previously able to duplicate the issue (vehicle available for inspection). Being unable to stop a moving vehicle during normal or emergency situations posses an immense safety risk to the operator, passengers, other motorists, and pedestrians. The issue was finally recreated by a Ram dealer in Florida on [XXX]. The entire braking system was inspected numerous times by various dealers in Texas, Arizona, and Florida. The brakes failure to engage happens randomly with out any prior warning lights or other vehicle indications, and first occurred in 2017 in Arizona. The only indicator for the potential of the brake failure is when the outside temperature is 75? or higher. However the presence of these temperatures does not guarantee the brakes will fail to engage just that the potential is more likely. Our truck kept coming up with check engine, ABS and traction control lights. Come to find out, it is the ABS Module Control that needs to be replaced. In doing research, I have found that there have been numerous complaints on this same issue for years. At what point does it become neglect on Dodge" There have been accidents yet they're continuing to ignore this situation and it's allowed??"

The Abs, Traction Control and Brake lights are on. None of the affected systems are working at this time. The vehicle was tested by Chrysler Ram in Peotone, Illinois. they said that the Abs control module was bad and could not be ordered at this time because it is still in product development at FCA.

ABS control unit failed as diagnosed by an independent repair shop when the dealer was contacted for parts availability was told part would not be released until April 2024. Currently my vehicle has no ABS, traction control, Vehicle stability control etc..... After doing some online research I have found many, many people that have had this same concern for years now with this same part. How is this not a recall at this point seeing as how when this module fails it disables the majority of the safety features on the vehicle?

Vehicle began experiencing electrical issues upon ABS/HCU unit failure. While initially intermittent, which allowed continued usage of the vehicle, additional components such as cruise control, trailer braking, etc., began to malfunction. Warning lights would toggle on and off, and truck began to have no-start problems with C0020 ABS codes and UO140 codes being thrown. Truck went to two Ram dealerships for inspection and neither could replicate any issues, but they were able to see the warning lights and code history. After being advised to first replace TIPM, battery, and starter, my truck has now completely died in my driveway. When I attempt to start, the check engine light comes on (in addition to ABS, trailer brake, traction control, etc.) and flashes between 3-10 times. I've now been told by dealer that the problem is actually in the ABS module and HCU, which due to the known issues with these parts may have caused damage to all of these other components, leading to the fault in the canbus system. This has been ongoing for nearly two years, which is ridiculous for the money spent on this vehicle. I've been advised by other Ram truck owners dealing with this type of situation to file a report in efforts to aid the ongoing investigation. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any further help, or alternatively if there is a resolution to this matter. Thank you and kind regards.

ABS Module failure causing disablement of cruise control, anti lock brakes, and traction control systems. Without these systems vehicle is experiencing degraded braking performance and no traction control /ABS to assist drivers in wet or slick road conditions or emergency braking. No parts are available from the manufacture, with no known date when the part will be available in order to repair this issue. This means the vehicle will have to be operated without the effected safety systems causing increased risk to the driver and other motorist.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the ABS had water in the system. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The power steering and traction control became inoperable. The contact stated that the brake pedal was soft when depressed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the ABS module, the front wheel, and the rear wheel sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the cap was full of grease and failed to connect, and the sensors were loosened. There was condensation in the module. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

* ABS Module and Hydraulic control unit (HCU), it was not available upon request, I had to wait two years for the parts. * No break assists while driving, brake pedal would go to floor, causing me to keep pumping the breaks until I came to a complete stop. * Yes, the problem was confirmed by the dealer. * Yes, the component was inspected by the dealer. * Yes, ABS light would stay on, this first appeared at the end of 01/01/2021.

No accident has happened but I have had the Anti-lock brake module go bad in my truck and it has disabled cruise control, anti-lock brakes and traction control. So basically just old fashion standard braking is all that is working. Took it to the dealership and they told me the part is on hold by Ram for review by their engineers. So I called Ram directly and they said it is under review but they could expedite the part for me. I see there is a law suit pending for the 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and 2017-2018 Ram 3500 but not any other years. After doing some further research online and using an ODB reader I see that this is actually a very common issue even with my year and model. Even at the dealership when I started to explain the issue, they stopped my and told me exactly what it was and that they have seen it many times. I believe because of the number of issues being registered online and in dealerships that this should be a safety recall, especially because we are talking about braking. I will attach photos.

On Monday I was on my way to work when my ABS Light, Traction Control Light, and Parking Brake Light all came on at the same time and a message on the dash that said -??Service ABS System-??. I took my truck to the dealership on 12-Sep for them to look at it. The dealership advised my ABS Control Module failed and needs to be replaced but they cannot get one until April of 2024. When I asked about the safety of driving the vehicle, I was advised the vehicle can be driven but I need to be very cautious while driving because I have no anti-lock brakes until the part is replaced. I travel on the interstate daily for my kids school and to work for 45-60 minutes in each direction during rush hour traffic. Not having anti-lock brakes makes me concerned my safety, the safety of my kids, and the safety of anyone around me should I have to slam on brakes in an emergency.

ABS module has failed. It is available for inspection for a limited time. I have to send it to a repair facility. My ABS module controls speedometer, tire pressure sensors, seat belt chime rings constantly even when seatbelt is engaged. Several lights on the dash flash or remain on. The hydraulic pump runs and kills my battery when parked. There were no symptoms prior to failure. Only after failure. The problem has been inspected and confirmed by 2 repair facilities. One facility told me they had 18 on back-order when I inquired on a repair. There is a nationwide shortage per the Dodge Ram dealers. I have contacted Dealers, repair service centers and Dodge Corporate Headquarters. They said they have it under engineering review until August. My truck is unsafe to drive because I cannot regulate my speed (speedometer), may get rapid tire deflation (TPMS), parking brake lights sensors remain on.

I have a failure of the ABS pump and eletrical actuator. I took it to my dealer for an estimate for repair. The dealer told me it was not on the recall list for repair. I was told they could not get a new replacement and want to replace the parts with used parts from the junk yard. I was told that the cost would be $950 including the scan but there is no guarantee. Why is this safety issue not covered by a recall? The blog pages for dodge ram are full of people complaining about the failure.

I filed a complaint on 7/4/2022, complaint number 11472254. Since then, I have done some research and found out that there have been MANY FAILURES OF THE ABS MODUALS on RAM trucks. I have attempted to buy a new one, but there are none. I called dealerships around the United States, and many have some in stock but can't sell them (won't sell them). And if I try and order from a local dealership, the part has a 6-month lead time. I have asked why the has not been a recall and I have been told it's not a safety issue and that traction control is a nice to have option. While looking at a new dodge Ram, I noticed that traction control and antilock brakes are listed under SAFETY (please see attached). If this is a SAFETY issue, why hasn't there been a RECALL issued?

My ABS Module light came on, along with my traction control and emergency brake light and my cruise stopped working. I took it to the dealer and they said it was an ABS Module, but it would be six months before I could get one. There are no ABS Modules available, evey dealer I have called has some but they can't sell them. My question is, why are there none available. The dealers say they are a known problem and with losing traction control it seems to be a safety problem, yet there is no recall on them. My truck is drivable, but not safely without traction control. Can someone look into this?

On May 16th 2022 I was driving my truck when the ABS LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT came on and my cruise control stopped working. I put a code reader on it and it gave me 220049, ABS system. To narrow it down to a component I had to take it tp a Dodge service. For $138 they told me it was an ABS Module internl failure. They said they could get me one for $1200, but it would take 6 months. Back logged due to covid. I came back home and tried to find one, no luck nobody had any available. So i found a company in GA that repairs them. I sent it in and had it repaired for under $300. When I got it back I installed it and it worked for less than a month. I started doing some research, looks like the reason there are no ABS Modules available is because everyone is having problems with the ABS Modules and it started well before covid. My truck only has 62,000 miles.on it as well as a lot of other trucks having problems. I know the brakes will continue to work if the ABS Module goes out but you lose traction control. If this is such an issue? Dodge should own up to the problem and send out a recall and fix then known problem
