"Service Electronic Braking System" and "Service Antilock Braking System" Braking system is failing and not safe to drive. When the CEL is active, my anti-lock brakes do not work, I've almost been involved in multiple crashes as the ABS will not engage and the brakes will lock and cause the vehicle to slide or become incontrollable. This has been reported by a large group of owners and no resolution has been implemented and a replacement part is not available.
In April, 2020, I contacted the RAM dealership because the "Service Electronic Braking System" warning light was coming on intermittently in my truck. It took two months to get an appointment scheduled at which time the truck was diagnosed with a faulty ABS hydraulic module. Estimated delivery time for the replacement part was an additional two months which made the truck over the 36000 mile warranty period. An appointment was made to have the part replaced but when I took the vehicle in I was advised there was no mechanic available to do the work. I purchased the part and had it installed by another dealer at a total cost of $986.86. The exact same problem reoccurred in May, 2022 and the part was replaced at a cost of $882.01. The problem reoccurred again in April, 2023 and was misdiagnosed as a computer problem which was repaired at a cost of $722.80. A new hydraulic module was then ordered to actually fix the problem and here it is a year later and there is still no firm delivery date available. The alarm and warning light flash almost constantly. We have had three close calls in the rain due to the failure of the ABS system and at this point I feel the vehicle is unsafe to drive. In addition to the ABS system malfunctioning, this problem also makes the cruise control inoperable. Recently the right front brake has begun to chatter making the vehicle pull to the right.
The ABS pump motor control circuit has an electrical failure. The truck's safety is at risk of incident without the help of the ABS system. The problem is persistent as the ABS warning lamp and Service Electronic Brake System message pops up every time the brake is applied. The dealership recommends the part be replaced.
My brakes went out in November 2020 with a bad hydraulic brake control and hydraulic control unit. The parts were replaced and everything was fine until December 2023. The same alarm came up that the truck brakes had failed. I took the truck back to the dealer who fixed it. They notified me that there is a known problem with these parts and there are no parts available. They ordered the parts for me, it is now April 22, 2024, and they still say there are no parts available. I also had contacted another dealer who stated the same situation, there are no parts available, and that the brake issues are an ongoing problem that Dodge is not taking care of. My truck is unsafe, there are tens of thousands of these trucks that are unsafe. The manufacturer should be made to correct the problems and fix the trucks.

The ABS control module is not working. This turns off the anti-lock brakes and I have nearly hit someone when the brakes locked and skid across the intersection. The consistency beeping and vehicle message block the information screen. I have been waiting for over a year for the parts to be replaced. It is a shame that new vehicles safety systems doesn't work. The part is 68347098AA the replacement 68347098AB or 68347098AC is not available.
Had this issue before keep getting service electronic braking system and service abs system messages. Like I said I had this very issue about a year or two ago it was repaired by ram but was covered under warranty. Fast forward a year or two having same issue again maybe 10,000 miles later.
ABS module quit working in May 2023. I can-??t get a replacement as Ram claims they are coming but they are not. I pull a travel trailer and it-??s a safety concern with no solution in the works
ABS and traction control lights going off and on. Stating abs need serviced. Took to a auto maintenance and told it need anew pump and module would not be available until August 24,2024. In January 2021hydraulic unit was replaced now need to replace it again
ON 3/21/2024 while traveling HCU/ABS Control module failed prompting intermittent dash lights and disabling ABS/TCS and Cruise Control. This was the first time this occurred and came without warning creating a very dangerous situation. As a result, hile traveling down the interstate during a rain event the truck lost traction at high speed (65mph in 70mph zone). This was instantaneous under medium throttle when the ABS/HCU ABS module suddenly disengaged allowing wheel spin on wet pavement. This caused the truck to briefly turn sideways on the freeway until intervened by myself the driver. This could have been very dangerous as there were numerous other vehicles in lanes on either side. No collision resulted. The vehicle has good tires and is in good condition outside of this failure. Upon investigation, I have found this to be very common on these trucks yrs 17-18. When I called the manufacturer they stated they are back ordered as it is a common failure and frequently require replacement.
Hitting bump or random moments (intermittent). The ABS module comes up with code C0020-01 for ABS Pump Module General Electrical Fault. Truck loses ABS, Traction Control, as well as Cruise Control. Vehicles Odo is 7284 miles.
Abs comes and goes most of the time it doesn-??t work had the issue for over a year when it-??s not working no cruise control. I had rydell deal ship look at it and said it-??s either the module or the pump.
Within the first 20k miles of owning this truck the check electronic power steering came on and the abs module was replaced. Now at 60k miles it's happening again from some basic research it seems that 2018 rams all suffer from this faulty part and even when it's replaced it still didn't last and the part it now backordered. ABS is a major part of the safety of a truck even more so when it's a heavy 2500. Ram needs to step up and take care of its customers and replace these units in a recall.
ABS and Electronic braking system lights come on and off. No codes. Reading about it and there are thousands of cases across the US. Something has to be done. Definitely a safety issue.
Service electronic braking system Notification and ding won-??t stop going off. Truck has less than 50k and through my research this is a common issue with this truck. I don-??t want to drive it anymore fit safety reasons. Bought the truck 2 months ago and have had an issue since I purchased
ABS and traction control lights coming on intermittently. I tow a camper with this and understand this is a known problem which is continuing to happen without any successful resolution.
I have intermittent Service Electronic Braking System and Service Antilock Brake System warning light. It started about 1 year ago at about 72000 miles. The diagnostic tool lists a C002001 fault (ABS Pump Motor Control General Electrical Failure. When the fault is active, I have no Antilock Brake, no cruise control and no traction control. I have no taken the problem to the dealership due to initial cost of diagnostics that they charge. Parts and labor are not covered under warranty.
