Traction Control and ABS not working properly. ABS light on dashboard is on called dealer several times and am told that the parts are unavailable. However, they said if I want to pay for the parts they could fix it. We called mopar and were told that the parts are available and can even be purchased on [XXX]. Called and explained this to the dealer and they said they had 1 in stock and made an appointment. Then received a call that they didnt know if they could get the parts - seems like if I want to pay out of pocket they will fix it. I would like to know if I lose my brakes or have an accident because of this safety issue who will be responsible?? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Recall #24 V896000, C4B was issued in December of 2024. Recall was to replace the HCU unit that controls the braking system. I have called every month, no parts are available to fix the problem. Warning lights and sounds are now going on and off on the vehicle. It does not seem reasonable that parts are not available to fix a safety recall for one year. Please contact the manufacturer to force them immediately to get this severe safety issue fixed.
Service ABS light constantly is on and off with dinging and kicking cruise on traction control off. I feel this isn't safe with my children on car. It has been a year I feel this is plenty of time to make it right or replace my vehicle
My 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 ABS Hydraulic Control Unit failed, almost a year after recall NHTSA 24V-896 (manufacturer recall C4B) was issued. This resulted in a loss of ABS capability. I reached out to the closest Dodge dealers and they informed me that a replacement component was not available. As this was a safety concern, and no resolution was available through Dodge, I was forced to complete the repair myself. Interestingly, I had no issue purchasing a Mopar OEM HCU. After replacing the unit, I'm no longer receiving ABS error codes and the truck is functioning normally. After submitting a reimbursement request to FCA for the repair via their website, my request was denied as I didn't use a certified repair facility. I informed them that I had tried but that they informed me that no repair components were available to complete the recall.
My ABS module has an active recall. I have replaced brakes and rotors in the front and rear. I have had to resurface my rear rotors due to the issue. My breaks are locking up and causing issues. I can't back up my trailer without my breaks locking up. The recall has been active for almost a year without a resolution. This problem is unsafe and people's lives are at risk. Something needs to be done. I can't even buy an aftermarket updated part to fix this issue. Thank you!

24v896-unit has been coding for months, dealership or chrysler have no fix in site. this is a safety hazard and I need my unit for daily driver and have been without for more than 3 months with no solution. I need them to replace this unit with a new unit or buy it back for the price of what it would cost me to get a new one. I need to have a truck to use if they are not going to repair it. I need this now.
My vehicle has a recall for a an ABS control module which affects, the ABS system, traction control, and cruise control system. The cruise control system will randomly turn off when the vehicle is at highway speeds causing a momentary struggle to keep control of the vehicle. The driver information display in the gauge cluster will randomly flash an error message with an audible "ding" which is highly distracting while driving. At times, this warning flashes every 3-5 seconds and lasts for 10-30 minutes at a time making it very difficult to concentrate on driving the vehicle. The traction control system fails when the message flashes which has been a problem on wet roads. The dealership has acknowledged the recall of the ABS module multiple times and indicated the manufacturer has not made a fix available for nearly a year. The issues with my vehicle are becoming more apparent and frequent every week. This is the second Ram 2500 I have owned that experienced a failure of the ABS module. I began to notice the issues with this vehicle in July of 2023 and the frequency has dramatically increased in recent months.
ABS failure light keeps popping on due to the recall. I have yet to get this resolved. The dealership wanted to charge $1200 and not fix the issue A DAY after purchasing. I have been dealing with this over a year. It is dangerous. I had to replace the entire transmission which cost $6,000 because the light will come on and stay on and send incorrect information to the computer system. The truck is not performing as it should due to this, and the traction loss is dangerous when braking suddenly.
Abs light and traction control light stays on plus keeps popping up to service electric trailers brakes. Electric trailer brakes well not work. Cruise control stopped working. All do to recall. Truck has had this recall for over a year now and I-??ll I ever get told by dealerships that the parts are unavailable. Dodge makes this junk ass trucks everyday so I don-??t understand why parts are unavailable.
Recall C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 Hydraulic Control Unit ABS. Continual tripping of the ABS warning resulting in loss of ABS, Cruise Control, Traction Control. Each trip give a warning and chiming resulting in nonstop alarms, noise and loss of the above features. It has been a year since the recall, over two years since the first class action and still no remedy to this safety issue. It is time for the NHTSA to sue and obtain a consent order from FCA similar to earlier FCA consent orders to repurchase these vehicles as they are currently unsafe to drive, there is no remedy in sight, and the resale value has plummeted as a result of this recall and lack of remedy.
ABS module/ HCU faulty. This has been replaced 2 times and lasts 3 years. Dealership says no fix has been made at this time for recall. No new parts to fix it, ABS light constantly going off.
I am concerned regarding the safety of this model and the hydraulic brake control unit/ ABS as I live in colorado it-??s about to be snow season and my wife drives this vehicle to work on snow days. I-??ve read the part failure can cause abs to fail and may lead to crash. Recall notice states no known remedy, and it-??s been almost a year since the notice was issued.
Since the recall was announced, my truck has experienced constant ABS and traction control alarms, including an unending beeping warning chime that makes the vehicle unpleasant and unsafe to drive. My local Ram dealer confirms that the repair parts (HCU/ABS module) are not available and that there is no estimated time frame for replacement. This situation has now persisted for months, leaving me with: -??A continuously beeping alarm while driving or idling, -??A loss of confidence in braking and safety systems, -??And a significant loss in resale value, since I cannot sell or trade the vehicle while this open safety recall remains unresolved. Impact This recall defect has made my vehicle effectively undriveable and unsellable. I have made multiple attempts to have it repaired, but the dealer and Stellantis representatives continue to tell me that parts remain on national backorder. As a result, I am deprived of the safe and normal use of my property. Under 49 U.S.C. ? 30120, a manufacturer must provide a free and timely remedy for a safety defect. The ongoing delay and the lack of any interim solution (such as a loaner or disabling the alarm) clearly violate the spirit of this requirement and constitute a constructive deprivation of use. Requested Action I respectfully request that Stellantis: 1.Provide a functional remedy immediately (replacement HCU or equivalent). 2.If parts are still unavailable, provide a loaner vehicle, temporary compensation, or buyback option until the repair can be made. 3.Confirm in writing the expected date when replacement parts will be available for my VIN. I am filing a concurrent complaint with NHTSA to document this safety-related hardship and ongoing loss of vehicle use and value. Documentation Available upon request: -??Copy of dealer service report indicating unavailable parts. -??Photographs/videos showing active ABS and traction control alarms. -??Records of my prior attempts to schedule service.
NHTSA Recall ID Number: 24V896, This recall has been going on for approx. one year with still no resolution to fixing the problem with the "Loss of ABS/Traction Control from Module Failure".
My RAM truck was recalled several months ago but has not been fixed due to no parts available for the fix. What am I to do? Dealers are no help at all. It has been almost 2 years since I have been trying to get this fixed. Please get RAM to get this recall done.
The ABS system continuously dings and the cruise control will not work and shuts itself off due to recalled defective part. Waiting for new recall part!!!!!!! Why was a recall issued with no part to fix"?" Make them get their act together. This is dangerous and maddening to listen to constant bell ringing in the vehicle. Not to mention the possibility of an accident. This vehicle is my daily driver. I need the vehicle to be operational and safe.
