Experiencing persistent ABS and Anti skid lights flashing on dash board along with persistent dinging, which has become very annoying. Took the vehicle to my nearest Ram dealership and they ran a diagnostic on it and told me that it was a faulty ABS/HCU causing the problem, but that there were no parts available to repair it. They said they would call and schedule an appointment to have it repaired as soon as the parts become available. I don-??t know if I can wait much longer, as the constant dinging is very upsetting to my wife, who normally drives the truck.
Going down a hill and had to do a hard brake for a animal and brakes locked up instead of gradually stopped causing me to slide Truck presenting a c0020 code
The ABS and and electric circuit lights came on, on the dash. Then a week later my Transmission started acting up. I had it into the shop and they are saying the 2 are related. They have given me the paperwork showing how the code that comes up is from the recall and the paperwork showing it can trigger the transmission control module. The manufacturer made the recall back in December of 2024. They have yet to come up with a fix. Now we have a none drivable truck that has to sit until they find a fix. I am still making payments on this vehicle and they have nothing to say. We are almost coming up on a year, where is the liability?
The recall for the ABS, C4B is still NOT resolved and is affecting other systems. I believe RAM headquarters are not interested in the repair. I have reached out and now they blocked me on social media because I complained publicly and posted the recall. They could at least replace with the same and it should work for awhile anyways. I just keep getting the same notice about it. PLEASE HELP

Recall 24V-896 was announced on 11-27-2024. The recall states that this may cause an unsafe driving condition for the vehicle. Stellantis has not resolved this problem and states that the part is unavailable. Stellantis lists the replacement for the defective hydraulic control unit (HCU) part #68143491AB as available for purchase. This delay is unacceptable, with thousands of potentially unsafe trucks on the highways.
Recall 24V-896, cannot be repaired, no repair timeline in site, vehicle is coding and dealership has confirmed code. Driving cruise will turn off and braking system becomes difficult and unstable. Warning systems come one. Dealership attempted to repair but manufacture advised they were not allowed to do so because it would not be permanent. Dealership has advised to park unit and contact Chrysler for buyback. We have called Chrysler customer care daily for 3 weeks with no success and no end in sight. The will not provide daily driver solution, vehicle replacement or repair fix. This is part of our daily driver to and from work and to and from farm to carry trailer with cattle. It is unsafe without proper braking system functioning and dealership has confirmed this and advised us to not operate. Chrysler has also advised us to not operate since it has coded but has offered no options. Dealership confirmed code on or about 8/22/2025
The contact owned a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving in reverse, down a steep boat ramp with the boat and boat trailer attached, the braking system suddenly malfunctioned, causing the boat, boat trailer, and the vehicle to go into the water. The contact had to climb out of the front driver's window and swim to safety. The contact also sustained a minor knee injury that did not require medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene. A diving crew was called to retrieve the vehicle. During the incident, the vehicle was destroyed. The contact indicated that prior to the incident, the brake warning lights had remained illuminated, and also, previously, while driving, the brakes had failed and nearly caused a rear-end collision. The contact was informed that the remedy for the NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000( SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) was not available. The manufacturer and local dealer were aware of the issue, but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 180,000.
First, I was not involved in an incident or accident with my vehicle. My concern is for my safety in the future while driving this vehicle. My RAM 2500 Power Wagon has a safety recall C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 for the brake system but there are no parts available to fix it. I currently have an ABS caution light with a "Service Electronic Braking System" and "Service Automatic Braking System" that constantly flashes and dings at random. I took my vehicle in to my local dealership and they told me there are no parts available and they were unable to fix the ongoing problem. I asked if my vehicle was safe to drive and they told me they cannot legally tell me if it is safe or not. There is no way forward to fix my vehicle and I haven't received any information other than "we are waiting on parts". With this being a safety issue, I would expect a loaner vehicle of a similar make and model. I do not feel it is safe to continue to drive my truck with these warning lights associated with an active safety recall. I am looking for advice or some help with this issue.
-??Side curtain airbag malfunction front driver's side. The truck has a warning light for the airbag and the computer diagnostics says it is a side airbag malfunction. The vehicle is well kept and has not been damaged. Mopar does not lost this malfunction and recall as included in my VIN -??Cruise control malfunction The cruise control sporadically does not turn on when the button is pressed. The button may need to be pressed a dozen times before it activates and cruise control is available to be set for a given speed and then engaged. This has occurred since purchase brand new at the original dealership at less than 25 miles on odometer. Mopar does not list this malfunction/recall for my VIN. -??Hydraulic Control Unit recall difficulties. The dealership has stated multiple times it has no replacement parts to do the recall repair covered under NHTSA Recall # 24V-896.
While operating my 2018 Ram 2500, the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) failed suddenly and completely, causing the loss of: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Traction Control This failure occurred without warning, creating an immediate risk of accident. The dashboard illuminated warning lights indicating system failure. The most recent diagnostic, performed by Einspahr Auto in Brookings, SD confirmed that the HCU requires replacement. Previous incidents with the vehicle involved intermittent failures of the same systems, indicating a persistent and unresolved safety defect. The dealer has not indicated when a permanent fix will be available. Due to the ongoing safety risk and extended timeline for repair, I am requesting a manufacturer buyback at this time. Stellantis has not provided any acceptable fix which does not impose financial hardship while the vehicle remains unsafe. Impact / Safety Concern: -The vehicle cannot be safely driven. -Significant risk of injury or property damage due to failure of critical braking and stability systems. Requested Action: I request federal oversight and that Stellantis provide a permanent remedy, including: -Manufacturer Buyback -?" Repurchase of my current 2018 Ram 2500 at 120% of the current market value; or -Manufacturer Replacement -?" A comparable vehicle with no unremedied recalls, free of the defect, and without additional cost Legal Assertion: I am submitting this complaint in good faith under 49 U.S.C. ?30166 and related federal safety defect statutes. Manufacturer Recall Number C4B; NHTSA Recall Number 24V-896 Recall Status Incomplete, remedy not yet available This problem is over 2 years old and still incomplete; why is there no time limit for them to fix; they are pumping out new sales and new problems but nobody is accountable. Still warning light every time driven and nobody can tell us when it will be fixed...
I have had this truck since 2018, I have had to repair the brakes, break pads and lines 6 times now and one time almost causing a horrible crash in Oregon slamming into a guardrail. I am tired of hearing there-??s no way they can fix it, they have no parts to fix it, they don-??t have parts to fix it, it-??s a sever safety concern, why am I constantly having to repair these brakes and no one can help other than an attorney.
RECIEVED A RECALL NOTICE (WILL TRY TO ATTACH TO THIS COMPLAINT) on or about December 2024 (ACCORDING TO RAM REPRESENTATIVE) stating that '[T]he BRAKE hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) ON YOUR VEHICLE may be susceptible to failure... The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.' I called several Dodge Ram Dealers to have the recall fixed on or about December 2024 & was told that there was no fix yet available. Called again a couple of months later and was told the same. After that I forgot to followup again until today 8-11-2025 and was again told the same. IT HAS BEEN ABOUT 9 MONTHS & EVEN THE NHTSA NOTICE ON YOUR WEBSITE SAYS THAT RAM STILL HAS NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUG THE RECALL NOTICE MAKES IT CLEAR THAT THE PROBELM IS AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE. " I REQUEST THAT THE NHTSA CONTACT DODGE RAM AND FORCE THEM TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION TO FIX THE RECALL ASAP. because of the admitted safety issues. -
