The car just turns off when the fuel is low while driving at highway speeds for a long distance. This is the second time the car has done this. The first time it happened the car was only 5 months old. The dealer said they couldn't tell anything about the event. The car died then I coasted off to the shoulder, put the car in park turned the key off and then back on and the car started. We drove to the first station and put 15 gallons in the car. The fuel warning light did not come on. The fuel mileage display said 70 miles remaining. This time the was like the first time... driving on the highway for an extended period 2+ hours. No fuel light, it just died. My husband was driving and coasted into a gas station.
I consider this very dangerous, to lose power at 75 miles per hour... yes that is the speed limit on Texas highways. If I had been in traffic the situation could have been serious.
