i work 2 miles from home. In April.over heated again.. took car to Toyota of Tracy. told they the thermostat was replaced so they replaced the cooling fan. $678.88 ore. . June 22, nd 2017 over heated again as i was sitting in mt parking lot balancing my ck book. engine stared fluttering very bad and i looked at the gauge.. HOT.. fluttered up then all the way down.. would not start.. HEAD GASKET JUST BLEW... called tow truck.. took car back to Advance Auto in Tracy Ca as they first did the thermostat.. let them FIX their mess from the beginning. They said the head gasket blown and heads warped.. needs resurfacing... kept car til about July 17th.. charged me another $ 1898.84.. when all this should have been handled with the original $282.00... The $678.00 and the $1898.. should never have happened if they had did their job correct the first time. They did the diagnostic and they are the pro... sounds like the thermostat was installed wrong!!!!!.. I know these after effects are the repercussions of a improperly installed thermostat.!!!!!
