In May,2009, when the oil supply line blew, Toyota replaced it...In March 2010, when I brought the car in for the gas pedal recall they told me "oh, there's a recall on the VVTI oil supply line"...I told them they just replaced it last year.....they said "well it's been recalled" The fix they had was the same old rubber part that goes bad.
In 2009 they replaced this line with a solid metal line...DUH !!! I paid the dealer $240.00 to put the solid oil line on and replace the timing belt while they were at it.....They part number for the oil line is: 15772-31030 Description: 313 PIPE, OIL Cost for part: $33.19
I have peace of mind now, but I'd sure like to give them a piece of my mind....thinking I didn't know about the "problem" that they won't fix the right way because it would cost them WAY too much money to go back to all the V-6 engines from 2005 to 2008
This is a great web sight and it helped me fix the problem for good
