Gas would not go into the fuel tank and it came out and pumped 2-3 gallons of gas on driveway of gas station. It could have started a fire. Fumes were everywhere.
For the past 4 months, I have been unable to fully refill my gas tank, (6 times). Attempts to put more than one to two gallons were stopped by the gushing of gas out of the tank. However, when I traveled to another gas station I had no problems filling up the tank.
I can not travel any distance for fear that I will not be able to refill my tank.
Toyota service dealer says the tank checks out ok but the refill top portion of the tank needs another part. the dealer says there is only one part in stock in the Tennessee area. What?! The timeframe to get the part is unknown. UGH!
At least I can drive the car but I am cautious of traveling any distance because I am unsure if the next gas station, that I can get a proper refill.
Update from Jul 13, 2021: Toyota delaer fixed the problem after 2 visits. Factory warranty covered expenses. It took less than 2 hours.
