I leased this Corolla back in 2012 - complimentary 2yrs or 25 miles service maintenance.... After year 1 the brakes started to make a squeak and when you brake you can feel that it was grinding. Every time that it was schedule for 5k maintenance I will note to check the brakes, their response, everything seems OK, just dust. I even filled a survey complaining about this. Now we took the car after 2 months of being serviced and what we found??

You need tires = we have a special for all 4 tires for $506 - What?? The tires on it are for 60k ?? The car has 21k.

You need new brakes pads- resurface rotors - adjust back brakes $ 341- will give you a 15% discount.

So what a joke - they just waited for me to be over the maintenance agreement so I could pay for the repair that I have been complaining for a year ..the lease is over in 9 months !!!

My wife's New Toyota Corolla 2012. around 9000 miles the brakes started making noise. Thought the brake pad or shoe need to be replaced (I can only come up this idea).

At 10,000 miles, We went to Longo Toyota dealship (California) for the 10k Maintenance and asked them to fix the Brakes Squeaking which wife can't stand it anymore; it is too annoying. To me, I am more concerned about the brake safety.

After we got back the car, we found the squeaking sound is less. It doesn't happen all the time anymore, but it still happens very often. The report said the brake Pad were good; nothing need to be changed.

We went to an independent car shop. They inspected the car and concluded brake pad and break shoes were good. They recommend us to go back to dealership and asked them for the solution.

Once again, we went back to the Longo and ask them what we can do. The guy was very nice told us that they are aware the issue, but no solution yet (no recall yet). We could bring back the car every 6 months to clean the breaks to help making the noises less. After warranted, it would cost us about $50. (it doesn't get rid of the sounds anyway)

I concluded Corolla is cheap and unsafe to us. Toyota is not the same old Toyota anymore. Very disappointed.

Corolla LE 1.8L

I bought a new Toyota Corolla 2012. around 8500 miles the brakes started making noise, I took it to Toyota dealer and the said ((CLEAN AND ADJ REAR BRAKES ~|~CHECK BRAKES MAKING NOISE ~|~REAR DRUMS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT AND HAVE EXCESSIVE DUST CAUSING NOISE. ~|~10533 REAR DRUMS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT AND HAVE EXCESSIVE DUST CAUSING NOISE. CLEAN AND ADJUSTED REAR BRAKES)) I thought every thing will be OK now. 5 weeks later the same noise and squeezing came back again. I took it to Toyota dealer and the did the flowing ((REAR DRUM BRAKE (ONE SIDE) ~|~CUSTOMER STATES THAT THERE IS EITHER A BRAKE NOISE OR A VIBRARTION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES PLEASE CHECK AND ADVISE ~|~FOUND BRAKES TO HAVE DUST AND DIRT. CLEAN LUBED AND ADJUSTED REAR BRAKES)). Less than 3 weeks later the same problems came back and I took it to the same dealer again and the fix and said on their report ((FRONT DISC BRAKE (ONE SIDE) ~|~CUSTOMER STATES THERE IS A BUZZING NOISE WHEN BRAKING TEST DRIVE WITH CUSTOMER .. CUSTOMER STATES THAT THERE IS EITHER A BRAKE NOISE OR A VIBRARTION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES PLEASE CHECK AND ADVISE ~|~CLEANED AND LUBED FRONT CALIPERS))

So I drove my car for another 3 weeks and they buzzing noise came back again. I got tired of this dealers, I called Toyota care about this. They called me back and asked me to take back to one of their dealers. I took it to Alexandria, VA. As they told me this has been checked by Toyota engineers not by local dealer Mechanical. So he said the car does not have a safety problems. Toyota said they are ware about this problem but they don't have a solution for it right now. They asked me to extension the warranty. I asked them just to take this car and give me another one with the same miles but they refuse and asked me to go to arbitration because they can't changed without the their step I should flow.
