Corolla LE ECO 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,885 miles

I own a 2016 Toyota Corolla LE ECO. I would have issues when turning on the car - the car would shake and then stall. I took it to Toyota to get it fixed and my normal car mechanic and they could not figure out what the issue was without taking apart the engine. My family used to race custom boats and cars so I was reluctant to believe that there would be an issue with the engine considering engines usually outlive the car, so I presumed it was something to do with the electrical system, which can be difficult to trace.

My car worked fine after ECO mode turned off, due to a code going off when the engine light turned on. My car ran perfectly until one day, the car's code fixed itself, and ECO turned on. Not even a day later, the issue is back and now I cannot turn on my car at all without it shaking and then stalling. Something is seriously wrong with Toyota's ECO mode or Toyota's engine! I am now replacing the engine completely. I would not recommend this car or Toyota anymore and I used to be a big supporter of their vehicles.

Corolla S

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,600 miles

I bought the 2016 Toyota Corolla new Jan 2016. My wife is the primary driver. Almost every time I drive it and come to a stop, or slow down. I give it gas and it acts as if the car cuts off for about 4 or 5 seconds. It may only happen once or twice when I am driving it. I have told Scott Clark service department about it. They told me it is characteristic of the corollas. They said there is nothing wrong with the car.
