ABS lights on. Took to dealer; cost $100 to tell me that it would cost $2700 to fix the problem or my brakes could go out at any time. Now I read on this site that Toyota knew of this problem and extended warranty to fix it until 12/2017 but never notified owners!! This is despite that I have taken this vehicle in to Toyota for service!! Infuriating since now cost 2/3 of car's worth to fix it and Toyota knew about this!

For whatever reason, there are numerous complaints about this problem that don't show up under this model, year, problem. This is an expensive repair that only the dealer can do, no recall was sent, a TSB/extended warranty was issued but not sent to owners, and now if your brake actuator failed after Dec 2017, we're out of luck. My 2005 Prius is in excellent shape, but is it worth $3K to repair this problem, with the possibility of battery replacement looming??? Very disappointed with Toyota that they didn't notify owners of this problem, their TSB/extended warranty, and do a recall.

ABS, brake lights are on

ABS DOESN'T WORK, PUMP SOUNDS ALOT! THERE IS A TSB-0174-12 OUT THERE BUT TOYOTA OF PUERTO RICO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT IT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED BUT NOBODY CAN TELL. WHAT IS A TSB FOR THEN?

Update from Jan 15, 2016: jeje, the TSB is for the problem, what I cannot find is the what the TSB says that needs to be done to correct the problem.
