Parking brake doesn't engage. There is an incline in my parking garage. My roommate and I have tandem parking so we have to move each other's cars all the time. While moving my car on May 18th, 2013; she put my Prius in park by hitting the park button. The car seemed to be parked and she got out. With the door of the car still open, the car started to roll backward. She wasn't able to jump in and stop it before it rolled 40 feet into a concrete wall which completely bent the open door the wrong direction and banged up the rear bumper.
The parking brake doesn't always engage and this caused an injury free, but still expensive accident. It could have been much worse if the car that is normally parked in the spot where my Prius came to rest was there. That would have been a lot more damage and expense. Or my roommate could have been run over in the process. There needs to be a recall on the brake function/button on this model of Prius. Also, an anti-roll feature would be fantastic as this is not the first time the Prius has rolled more than it should.
