When stationary or in motion rear tail light lenses leak around the perimeter causing tail lights to fill with water. The water inside them increases until lights short out.
The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Prius C. the contact stated that the reverse lights would not illuminate. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that water was present inside the light cover fixture, which caused an electrical short and corrosion to the wire harness. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
