The contact owned a 2017 Toyota Prius C. the contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated. The contact stated while the brake pedal was being depressed the vehicle failed to stop. The contact then swerved to the right and hit a curb as the vehicle went air bourne. The front of the vehicle crashed into a tree and some brushes. The contact stated that all front, side, and rear air bags deployed. The contact sustained scratches and cuts to the knees and neck injuries as she was transported to the hospital by ambulance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it was deemed a total loss. The dealer westbury Toyota (1121 old country rd, westbury, NY 11590, (516) 272-4499) was contacted but the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure were a case was opened and field investigators were to inspect the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000. Consumer stated I'm in touch with my personal claims manager, Mr. Thomas opatz at esurance and customer experience at Toyota who I sent my permission to have my car inspected because I encountered a problem with my accelerator which apparently became stuck and in my desperate attempt to stop the car by applying extreme pressure to my brakes and I could not stop my out of control car so I had to swerve to my right to avoid catastrophic accident. I swerved into trees which brought my car to a complete stop. All my airbags deployed and my seatbelt protected me. Photos attahed
