My brakes have been making this noise ever since I brought it brand new and I get the same response, its normal, one time they did something with the rotors and after that its been this is normal. I especially hear it after it rains, when it snows and when I move the car for the first time, when backing up or going forward. It sounds horrible. Took my car in for maintenance again yesterday and they say my brakes are fine and don't require changing. I cant understand how Toyota allows these statements to be made and not address it, obviously its not right. I hate this car and wish I had never brought it. Its so many issues. Cant believe its a Toyota brand because its definitely crap just like some American cars. Disappointed Toyota shame on you

This problem occurs every morning when I first use the car...sounds like metal on metal when I am backing up,,,,every day it is embarrassing for the neighbours to listen to it

Car manufacturers should provide a quality product when we spend our hard earned money to purchase their product. They should stand behind their product.

Purchased brand new 2014 RAV4, started hearing scraping noise (metal on metal) coming from brake calipers every time the vehicle sat for more than a few hours. Took it for service to dealer, said it was a common complaint with the newer Toyota--he called it "Caliper Clack" and there was nothing they could do for it. Uh, my brand new car sounds like the brakes are shot before the first oil change?
