Purchased this white 2016 Toyota Rav 4 from Fred Beans Volkswagen in Devon,PA. It was used and had a blemish. About 2x3 inch of paint was missing and showing bare metal. I brought this to sales manager’s attention. He said he has no idea why it’s like that. He said the dealer would give me touch up paint. I bought this May 2026 for my daughter who just graduated college and was starting a job.
Two weeks ago, she sends me a photo of missing paint from front fender. I started to googled white paint issues with Toyotas. Apparently there was a recall that ended two months after I purchased it, I had no idea there was a recall for bad paint. I called the Fred Beans dealer and they pretty much told me too bad and it was my fault for buying it. I then contacted Toyota. If this was reported to a Toyota dealer when Fred Beans has the vehicle it would have been covered. It is no longer going to be covered by Toyota. Fred Beans also has a Toyota dealer, that they could have contacted after I brought this to their attention. Now the paint continues to fall off .
