Car is less than a year old and the hood paint is cracked through from one bird dropping that dried out while we were out of town. I have had plenty of cars in my life, our current Honda is ten years old and does not get the same attention and treatment as the new car - no issues with it's paint at all! Ever!
Dealership told me paint is paint (it is not, anyone who has mixed and shot paint before knows that) and the problem must be my fault for not taking care of it (this car has been pampered, I take care of my vehicles, so I was... annoyed... at his suggestion). I have detailed literally hundreds of cars and have never seen this happen so easily. Even cars without clear-coats fared better than this one, which has a clear-coat!
I have also noticed that this color/paint shows scratches very easily. Even when my wife leaned a cardboard box against the car to open the door, the paint showed exactly where the box was; I had to buff the area out.
No car paint, especially a new car, should fail so easily. Period.
