These issues have been ongoing, and I have taken the vehicle to a Toyota dealer multiple times since 2024 because of these problems. The vehicle has also had the transmission fluid changed as part of attempts to address the ongoing transmission issues as I've never believed in lifetime 100,000 mile transmission fluid changes ive always changed fluid every 40,000 miles.

The vehicle is currently at the Toyota dealership for an ECU/software flash related to the transmission. I was informed that the software update is not covered by the applicable TSB T-TT-0580-19 which is the exact issue im experiencing and the dealer is charging me $225 to Diagnose and perform the software update.

I am concerned because the transmission problems have continued despite previous yearly visits and the transmission-fluid service performed regularly. This issue should be apart of the ongoing class action lawsuit for UA80 Transmission Toyota-Aisin 8-Speed Transmission Class Action currently pending in the Eastern District of New York, Natale et al. v. Toyota Motor Corporation et al., Case No. 2:25-cv-06150-JMA-ARL.
