I have reported this problem to my local Toyota dealership where I purchased the car, brand new, off the lot. I have taken the car in twice for regular service and reported the issue both times. The most recent service was May 6, 2021 and the dealership sprayed Ozone into the vehicle to get rid of the smell. The smell returned the minute I turned on the air conditioner. My brand new vehicle smells like dirty socks all the time. The advice from Toyota dealership service department was to purchase a carbon filter on my dime and they "will pop it in for me".
This is a manufacturer defect on a vehicle that is under full warranty which Toyota will not recognize or repair. Furthermore, Toyota wants me to spend my own money to purchase a non-stock part with no guarantee it will fix the problem. Toyota has several lawsuits on other models with this same exact problem. Time to add the 2021 RAV4 to the list.
