Toyota Sienna S*ks. I had just bought a 2000 Toyota Sienna Van for the family. Well a year later the van started acting up. The RPM will rise up high and the vehicle will not go. Check engine light came on. Took it in and did a maint check. The shop says is the Transmission Solenoid. Well guess what, there are three of them. Not sure which one to replace. Just the other day the van started dying. While driving and came to a stop at the light, the van die. Start engine up with no problem. Put it on DRIVE and vehicle DIE. Now it can't be drive anymore, sitting in the driveway. Wrote to TOYOTA and they go F* URSELF.

Sienna V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

This will be the 3rd transmission for this 2000 TOYOTA Sienna. Toyota replaced the first 2 transmissions (this was still a huge hassle and lots of work and inconvenience for us) but now we are screwed. This van has been well maintained but since this is obviously a Toyota LEMON that eats transmissions why put in yet another $4000 + dollars? This was going to be the vehicle for our teenagers to use while at college, buy a Toyota and it will last for 200,000 miles, Ha, don't count on it!

Sienna XLE 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,000 miles

Although almost 9 years old, very gently used and ALWAYS serviced by a Toyota dealer for ALL maintenance. Transmission failed after only 78,000 miles. I never expected this sort of catastrophic failure from my Toyota. Has me really questioning the quality of their product.

Quite surprise the malfunction of the transmission just after 3 years of new age. Thankful the Toyota dealer can cover the parts and I just pay for the labor cost only.
