Driving my AWD 04 Sienna and all of a sudden the drive train locks up and I go from 45 to 0 in like nothing. Will not move in any gear so I had it towed. Mechanic says there is no oil in the transfer case. I have had oil changes done routinely by BreakMax. Mechanic says that this must have had a slow leak at the seal. To fix will require replacement of the transfer case which will cost $4800. The engine and transmission have to be removed from the vehicle to do the job. Part cost $1000 from dealer or $500 from junk yard the rest is labor. My research indicates that this is very common problem with the AWD Sienna.
