Power steering appears to be failing, steering is getting stiffer. Has been going on for almost 2 weeks and appears to be getting worse. Had it checked out at Toyota dealership yesterday and they can't pinpoint it at this point but believe that it is either the power steering pump or the entire rack and pinion mechanism. Minimum of $1,000 to fix.

Binding occurs while turning. Problem is intermittent and varies in severity (can bind and be very difficult to turn or simply feel like a slight grab. Problem came on suddenly being intermittent the mechanic could not find problem until I found related issues. Additionally being intermittent and the fact that it could grab without warning and suddenly be very difficult to turn the vehicle it a sever safety concern.

The intermediate shaft on my 2005 Toyota Sienna binds and locks causing tough steering and many near miss accidents due to difficult steering. Repair is to cost $800 dollars which is ridiculous for something that should be recalled.

Problem with power steering shaft. One of the universal joints on the "sealed" shaft rusted enough to prevent the proper steering. This was an extreme safety issue! it made it impossible to steer the vehicle. It was very expensive to fix.
