With a the van full of family members driving up the mountains to see the Redwood trees in California the Traction Control Center begins to put the brakes on the vehicle and making my husband firmly hold the steering wheel as it jerks us side to side. The next 2 hours of clear panic and fear as the vehicle does this repeatedly . Sounding alarms and braking when there is no danger at all. We try going slower does not work. We had the vehicle checked with the tires and knew that it was not in our control. The danger of the vehicle driving us off the cliff was a real fear. When I arrived home I made an appointment at the Toyota Dealership and paid $130 for a Diagnostic. They confirmed that the Traction Control was malfunctioning and it would cost me $948 to replace. I asked if there was any recalls and they stated not at this time. This malfunction did not cause an accident . But it could of have. Knowing that I'm driving with 7 people in my car and Toyota is waiting for more people to report this is alarming.
