In winter when the temperature fall to 30 and when steering get a load squeaking noise and taken to the dealer (first winter) winter and they informed that it is not re-creatable. Many times the problem was reported to the dealer and no action was taken because it is not re-creatable. After warranty period expired I was asked to change the steering fluid to fix it. I did not since it was not due to usage/handling the vehicle and it is due to fault in manufacture. Next year we were informed that it is a safety issue and I need to change the steering fluid. I mentioned to the dealer should inform the Toyota head office on this but nothing was document nor it was followed up by the local dealer. I am leaning towards the warranty coverage rather the consumer to pay because steering fluids should perform as it supposed to and do the job it supposed to. Any failure due to steering fluid and any damage caused will be Toyota responsibility. It is 11 years passed and will continue to drive and hoping this will be fixed at any point of time before the crash occurs due to failure of the steering fluid leakage. This vehicle is driven in frankfort ky.

Oil cooler pressure hose explode while driving with my kids back from the church oil were leaking all over the street the car was smoking in front drivers were honking and scream your car is on fire and a nasty smoke where coming out of it. If I was not alerted by a good samaritan my kids and I will pay our lives. I called main office Toyota and made a complain but they refused to help although this part 'hose is not used by Toyota company for lack of safety. The supervisor was not listening and does not care about his consumers lives instead he said oh luckily some body told the car is smoking and we will do something about if it caught on fire or there is life lost. This respond is totally unacceptable he also refuse to email me a letter saying this part of the car was not recalled although it did.

The slip indicator sends a false positive which causes the brakes to apply automatically when I go over 10 mph. The road is dry, weather clear and there is no poor conditions for drivingthe vehicle is unsafe because while I am driving it can come to an abrupt halt and the vehicle behind me could crash into me.the vehicle overrides my attempt to accelerate and I am subject to the 'computer's decision to brake unnecessarily. I had a dealer look into this and they said it was the brakes. I have always been a loyal Toyota customer, but there are many complaints about this problem some of which are on youtube and Toyota seems to be unwilling to address this issue. Please help I need my vehicle and I need to be safe while driving.

The steering wheel makes a ticking or clunking sound as it is turned back and forth or when a bump affects one of the front tires which naturally moves the steering wheel one way or the other. There also seems to be excessive "slop" in the steering wheel movement. Dealer has looked at it and said it is a faulty "intermediate steering shaft" and it needs to be replaced. This is a known Toyota issue with other models (2004-2011?). there are two U-joints on the intermediate shaft. One or both of them is wearing out, causing the sound and excessive play. This is a design issue affecting the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. I thought I should record this complaint.

Right side seal of steering rack leaks and is a occurring problem on many Sienna vans. Seal may possibly be defective from manufacturer. If the leak is not detected early, then the power steering may fail and thus the vehicle would become very hard to control.

The vehicle was diagnosed that the power steering rack and the axle boots failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

The main spring that supported the entire front of the car just collapsed as I was about to park my car. Thank god it did not happen while I was on the highway. Although there was a safety/service bulletin listed by Toyota on this part they would not cover the replacement cost of almost $1500.

When I drive my car or make turns I hear a rubbing sound. My mechanic tells me that the wheel bearing hubs need to be replaced or the wheels will eventually fall off. Probably due from where and tare. I don't under why this would be an issue and why so soon on this car.

Got oil change for 2007 Sienna today and was told steering rack and pinion may need to be replaced because of leakage. I'm the first owner and the car has been maintained well since the first day. I don't understand what causes the leakage as the car has only 63174 miles as of today. It's unacceptable that the quality of the component is so bad.
