We were told at the dealership that we had been hit on the rear left bumper and the BSM (blind spot monitor) had been damaged. Dealership thought they could repair it but it was only a temporary fix as it stopped working again after the repair. Since there is NOT a dent on the rear bumper, we feel Toyota has failed to properly install this safety feature on the vehicle. I am not willing to pay over $700.00 for a part on a vehicle that was less than a year old when the part failed. I had become dependent on the blind spot monitor but will adjust. I think Toyota needs to be made aware of the poor installation of this safety feature.
