over bump, turning , steering keeps making noise, toyota repair man told me, this is the common problem on this car, too bad your car is out of warranty, you have to pay $2000 and up to repair this problem, and this will come back on average every 3 years.... so on ....

2009 purchased brand new at Town & Country Toyota in Charlotte, NC for my wife.. This is the 4th car we purchased from this dealer. This car has only has 28,000 miles on it!! NEVER had any other problem. Dealer is playing hardball and all they say is it out of warranty. Toyota should have had a recall for this widespread problem but did not. Dealer says new steering column is 'regularly' $3400. but would do me a BIG favor and charge me half. (BFD) I was told that just a new Intermediate shaft would fix this part ($196) BUT DEALER SAYS IT WILL NOT. I suggested they call the zone office on my behalf, tell them I was a good customer, 27k miles and they would not do this. There are a few TSB's on this problem, also with Tundra's and Camry's. My next Toyota will be a Honda. A new intermediate shaft is what I am doing at another dealer.
