Ford Recalls Focus Electric and Focus ST Cars
Wiring problems can cause lights to shut down at night.

— Ford is recalling over 6,000 model year 2012-2013 Focus BEV (electric) and model year 2013 Focus ST vehicles because other drivers might have trouble spotting the vehicles in the dark.

Ford says the cars are equipped with high intensity discharge headlights that have a problem in the wiring that can cause the front side lights to malfunction.

The Focus BEV vehicles were manufactured September 15, 2011, through May 6, 2013 and the Focus ST cars were manufactured February 16, 2012, through May 7, 2013.

The recall should begin in mid-August, 2013.  Ford dealers will modify the headlight assembly wiring to correct the problem and keep the lights on.

Owners can call Ford at 866-436-7332 and refer to recall number 13C04.
