On many different occasions, my 2010 Chrysler Town and country will shut off while driving. All of the warning lights illuminate on my dashboard, the power steering shuts off, and the engine shuts off. I must coast to the side of the road, without power steering, and turn the key to the off position. Then, I must restart the vehicle. It always restarts, but this happens about once every 2 weeks. After reading the recall details of the 2017 Chrysler pacificas, the description of the problem matches the problems I am having. My mechanic has inspected my van, but he cannot diagnose any problem unless he, himself, experiences and witnesses the stalling occur. Problem happens while in motion. It has happened slowly in a parking lot, and it has happened at 55 mph on a highway.

On multiple occasions over the last almost 3 years we've had issues with our vehicle dying when stopped or parked. It began in December 2014. We purchased the vehicle in August 2014. While driving to Florida from Michigan our check engine light came on. Then it turned off so we figured that the bulb was loose or something and we'd get it checked when we got back from vacation. On the way back the same thing happened with the check engine light coming on, going off but then it came back on and didn't turn off. Then the vehicle starts dying when we're stopped or parked. We're obviously concerned! I had to get an oil change after driving that far anyway so I brought it in. The said that the code was for a misfiring piston and I needed to take it into the shop right away. So I immediately drive it over to the dealership shop. They have it for a few days and tell me that nothing is wrong, the vehicle just needs a tune up and new wires, even though it doesn't even have 90K miles on it. They were going to charge us $700. We had my husband's cousin do it instead because he is a mechanic and doesn't charge us for labor. The problem doesn't go away. They tell us the cam shaft sensor is bad. We replace it. Doesn't fix it. They tell us the crank sensor is bad. We replace it. And on and on our goes with us replacing things and the dealership being unable to recreate the issue. For the years we've been dealing with that and a vehicle that cannot smoothly accelerate. It is impossible to quickly get up to speed and merge onto the highest because the vehicle bucks and shakes if you try to accelerate quickly to get up to speed. Then the check engine light flashes, traction control light comes on and a bell starts to ding until we pull over, shut off the vehicle and restart it. Nobody can tell us what is wrong and when the codes are scanned it doesn't match any code that Chrysler has.

My vehicle almost daily will stall out and die while in motion on roadways. The traction control light comes on, the power steering fails and the car dies. This generally happens between 30-40 mph and often times multiple times a day. The radio and other components will remain on but I have to turn it off and pump it to get it to restart. I have seen hundreds of forums that list this as a current complaint with this year range of Town and country's.

The last two days in a row, my van has shut off while I was in the first 2 minutes of driving it in the morning, going about 25 miles an hour in a residential neighborhood. The first time it happened right after I turned right at a stopped sign. The second time I had just gone over a speed hump (slowly). The engine totally shut down while still in drive. I braked (without power) to a stop, put the van in park, turned the key off, and then restarted the van. No problems after restart. Restarted just fine. But this has happened two days in a row. This seems like it could be extremely dangerous!

The vehicle will intermittently start/not start. We have replaced the battery, and the starter. But the problem still persists. We have towed the vehicle to the dealership and they are unable to diagnose the problem. We have been stranded numerous times by our vehicle that is temperamental when it is time to start. When turning the ignition the starter clicks once and then is silent. All electrical in the car still works, but the engine never turns over. The alternator, starter, and battery have all been diagnostically checked and are in working order. We have experienced this problem for over 1 1/2 years, however it has become more frequent in recent days.

The Town and country have had known electrical issues but are currently no recalls. Driving down the road the vehicle will lose power to interior and exterior lights, ac/heat, radio, door locks, power windows, etc. The transmission will also throw itself into neutral. I have spoken to 3 auto shops in the last month and they have said they have seen this issue with Town and country vans over the last year or so. My van currently has 137K miles on it.

I purchased this car two years ago with a limited mile warranty. A month later the ignition module went, we are constantly taking the car to have breaks front and back and rotors repaired every month on the vehicle. We were given a false carfax report as well. If that wasn't enough there was a faulty spark plug which cost me $800 to remove the head gasket to replace the plugs that were never replaced and had dry rotted. This occurred in July of 2017 after I spent 3K in rental cars to get to and from work. On 8/4/2017 the thermostat blew which cost $200 to repair now the catalyct converter is gone and on 8/5/2017 the car was acting possessed. I came outside side to start the vehicle and noticed the windshield wipers were going off and the car smelt as if it were burning. They keys were not in the vehicle. I need help I have a family size of 6 with small children that ride in this unsafe vehicle every day. It is our only means of transportation to and from work and additionally I pay a monthly car payment of $410 not including insurance.

Van fails to start or even turn over. Happens without previous warning. When key is turned, only a short crank of the engine occurs and nothing else. Typically lasts between 15 minutes to 2 hours before vehicle will start. This has been happening since vehicle was new. Estimate occurrence between 12-18 times. Win module replaced under warranty and tipm flashed numerous times. Starting to occur more frequently in the past 6 months, approximately once a month. Everything else electrically works in vehicle when this occurs, including power doors, windows, etc. Vehicle is stopped and there is no pattern to length of time sitting, angle parked at, or anything. Has happened in garage, parking lots, and most recently in car wash.

The engine of my 2010 Chrysler Town and country shut off while traveling on the highway at a speed of approximately 60mph. It has happened two other times at lower speeds while in town. The issue left me and my family in danger of a highway collision. This problem appears to be with the ignition switch spontaneously dropping into accessory mode which matches a recall for the same issue in other Town and country's very close to the date of manufacture of mine. That recall was 14V373. My van was manufactured four months after the recall window relating to the ignition switch issue which subsequently disables the airbags and other safety equipment. The specific part that was the issue in 14V373 and what I believe to be the issue here is the win module.

2010 Chrysler Town & Country completely shuts off while driving, rpms dropped below 1 and power steering completely gone. Took car to my mechanic was told win module, towed car to local Chrysler dealer and paid diagnostic fee after being told that recall had already been completed, only to be told by dealer that fuel pump bad and battery needs to be charged. I am doubting the fuel pump would cause car to completely shut down. This is very unsafe and could have been potentially fatal as I had my young children in the car and was seconds away from heading over a big bridge.

For some time, my van has been "missing" or sputtering (not running correctly) at about 35-40 mph. Acceleration would seem to make it go away. This has been happening for at least a year. I didn't think too much of it until this past Sunday, May 7, when I was leaving my house. About a block away from home, I lost power steering and brakes, and then realized the engine had quit running. Yesterday I was driving home from work on the interstate. As I was going down an onramp, the engine again quit, causing me to lose power steering and brakes. I was freaked out as there was heavy traffic and ruts on the shoulder. I was able to pull off the road. Both times the engine started right back up again, but I drove "white-knuckled" all the way home, and in the right hand lane, not knowing when it might die again, ad fearing that if I were in a heavier traveled lane and it quit, I could be struck. I am angry and appalled that there is no recall on the tipm which my mechanic tells me is the problem. It is costing me in excess of $1,300 to have it replaced and there is no warranty that I am aware of that covers this. This could be a serious safety risk if a vehicle just quits going down the road in heavy traffic.
