This has happened on several occasions now. The check engine light comes on and say its the EGR Valve, it has now been replaced. But the steering will just stop working and I cant turn the wheel. I have also had it where the van will lose power and I cant get it to turn or move since the steering wheel is now locked up. I have been in almost too many accidents in the past 3 months. Back in Oct 2018 it was happening almost every day, the steering would just locked up and lose all power. I got into the mechanic and the only they that is coming up is the EGR and nothing else. They fixed it, and it didn't do anything for almost a month and it started again about a week ago. I was trying to turn and the steering would just lock up. Turned off the van and it was fine. Today I was trying to turn into my drive away and the steering wheel stopped working again. It just was hard to move it, got it to loosen up and was able to pull into my drive way.

My sitter also has the same year and make and model as I do, and she has had in the shop about 3 or 4 times and they keep fixing something else on it and it keeps popping up EGR.

Car lost power steering at stop sign, usually happens on cold or humid day and in the 1st 10 mins of the drive. Randomly happens and cannot duplicate at repair shop. Need to put car in park and restart, usually takes a couple tries to start it up and back to normal. It is a great safety issue!

Was leaving work, exiting a roundabout, when I lost steering, traction control light came on, and my brakes were extremely hard to use. Maneuvered to the side of the road, shut the car off, turned it back on and it works fine now. Looks like it's the same issue as others are having and it makes me nervous to drive since I drive the interstate every day. Surely Chrysler can (should and needs to) do something about this.
