We purchased our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country January 14th 2015 used from Carmax. We felt the Chrysler was a solid brand and should last us many years. We paid our van off this year 2020 and shortly after began hearing a knockng noise in the engine. We had about 120k miles on it. We are pretty diligent about doing maitenance on time and with the same reputable mechaninc. They thought it it was the lifters sticking and tried a engine additive to no resolve. This was attempted twice with no results. So they began taking the heads apart to replace the lifters and discovered the engine had metal shards throughout. The only recourse was to replace the engine. With a 7 yr old vehicle and ony 130k miles we were devasted by this news. It is currently parked in hopes that Chrysler will do a recall as this is obviously a manufacture issue as we are seeing many reports across the 2011 to 2013 models.
