I have a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country with 114,000 miles on it.
It developed a severe oil leak. I replaced the transmission oil pan and filter. I installed a gasket that Chrysler doesn't think they need as they use some black sealant. The Transmission pan was leaking. My repair fixed that part of my problem, but, I still had an oil leak. I have determined that the source of this leak is the engine oil cooler assembly that has faulty o ring seals. The seals leak and the oil flows onto the transmission and then to the lower parts of the car and then the ground.
This is a know issue with the 3.6 engine since 2011. There are many complaints on you tube and such. Auto parts stores carry many aftermarket repair parts and some have replaced the plastic assembly with aluminum.
I cannot believe there is no service bulletin or any mention of this on this site.. It is such a common problem.
I have had 4 Chrysler minivans in the past and enjoyed them. This will be my last as this kind of a defect that has not been fixed has cost my confidence in this product.
I assume that oil coating the underbody of a vehicle would be a fire hazard, but, I have not seen any fires.
Chrysler, fix the problem.
