whenever i accelerate my truck sounds like it has a bad cold and can't stop coughing, it just recently started doing it... now my check engine light came on... i took it by auto zone so they could read the computer and they said cylinder #5 was misfiring and i needed a coil pack or coil plug?? (not sure which one), and that my plugs needed changing. I have only had the truck about 3 months but i don't have a warranty... does anyone have any idea how much this would cost to fix or have any suggestions??? thank you

This is the second time in about 4 months that I have had to have a coil package replaced on one of the cylinders. 1 coil package per cylinder number 3 was replaced in March, number 4 replaced in August. $ 374.00 per replacement. No explanation except that they do occasionally burn out however should last over 100,000 miles. With 8 cylinders this adds up to potentially $3,000. Not a cheap fix. Service tech could not say what or if they were covered under any warranty, she indicated these have gone out on vehicles with less mileage.
