This was the SECOND time in less than two years that the A/C compressor locked up!!! When the compressor locks up, it trashes the entire system with metallic debris. If you only replace the compressor, any trash in the lines will cause it to fail within a month. That means that you must replace the condenser and all the lines along with the compressor.....and that costs over $1500 and as much as $2000 at some dealers!

It's bad enough that this happened once, but to deal with it twice in less than two years is unacceptable!!! Twice in two years on a vehicle under five years old and that cost $38k new is criminal!!!

A/C system had to be completely replaced for $1400! The vehicle was barely three years old at the time but had 98k miles, so warranty had expired long before this.
