The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the front driver's side door and window trim panels were detaching and deteriorating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the failure was related to Customer Satisfaction Program: 17N01 (Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned), however, the campaign had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but declined to assist because the campaign had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

The contact stated he heard an abnormal noise when the trim detached. The contact had taken the vehicle to a body shop to replace the missing trim. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Ford Customer Satisfaction Program: 17N04 (Trim). The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the armrest on the front driver's side door panel had fractured. The contact took the vehicle to greenway motors (located at 310 bedford rd, morris, il 60450, 815-768-1813) and was informed that the repair was covered per a customer satisfaction campaign. The dealer restapled the door panel, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.
