One afternoon we got into our Explorer and discovered the mirrors would not fold out (they fold in when parked). I then tried to roll down the window to see if I could manually move the mirror and the window would not roll down. In addition, the AC/heat and fan was not working and neither were the seat heaters/coolers. We called our local dealership and explained the problem and they tried to book an appointment a month out. I insisted we need something immediately as without the ability to fold out mirrors or run the defrost the vehicle would not be safe to drive. At the very least we can leave at the dealership and use the rental car coverage in our extended warranty. I was passed on to the service manager who got us in right away. They looked at it overnight and ended up replacing a communication module that is buried in the dash and allows the Ford Sync system to talk with all of the accessories it controls. Problems was fixed. I don't recall how much, it would have cost.
