So Ford really messed this up, talk about a poor design... the window pillar molding is designed to break when you need to change the windshield?? Really!! But that's not even the issue here... the rubber all around my windshield began denigrating a few months back when i only had 29000 miles on it!
I had to take it to a Ford dealer for a recall on the roof racks back in March, I pointed out the rubber molding coming off and all they said was there was no recall on that and it would cost $800 to fix!!!
And now while driving on the highway the plastic pillar molding started flopping in the air, thankfully i had some packing tape to hold it down till I got home. I brought it to a body shop and they said it's common in Ford Explorer's!!! This without a doubt is a design flaw and poor quality materials to come apart in a 2 year old vehicle.
I've called Ford with no solution from them so far other than to pay to get it fixed. The next step is to spread this all over social media.
