CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford changed a lot of things for its 3rd generation, just none of them were a good idea.

The transmission tends to hesitate and jerk when accelerating. The new electronically-driven power steering can fail suddenly and without warning. Even Ford's SYNC can be a headache. Actually, scratch that last one — it's always been a headache.

It's the reservoir tank that is leaking. I'm not sure how to fix - I'm adding antifreeze every 5 days.

I have had the repairs done on my vehicle. Water pump was replaced first because it was leaking coolant. Once fixed the rapid leakage stopped. After that repair I was still losing coolant and had to have the container replaced where you poured in the coolant. I was able to have these problems fixed because of my credit account with Pep Boys Service Center.. I'm still paying on the car. There have been 2 recalls since I had this car. One for the transmission module replacement and a door latch(something). Both recalls at the dealers expense and not mine. I have found no recall issue online about this coolant leakage problem. Is there a way to recoup the money paid for these repairs??

Car started to overheat. Smoke pouring into inside of car when I took off A/C. Pulled over and no water in the reservoir tank. Put water in tank, drove to Ford dealer. They said we put cap on wrong (they were last ones to service car). Got car back and about a week later same thing. Car is now at dealer for a week while they wait on a heater core which they said they are not sure that's the problem. meanwhile a have a hoopty that I have to drive around. They could have at least gave me a new car to drive.
