CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.

The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) is a mess. It fails at an alarming rate. Don’t believe us? Take a look at NHTSA’s data on the subject.

And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

Same windshield wiper issues....fast swiping during intermittent, hesitation about 3 inches up, stopping in the middle of the windshield when turning off, and a new symptom....when turning off, wipers still keep going until I fiddle with the wiper switch a few times!!! Dealer's service group states "Cannot duplicate." Very frustrating.

Complained about my windshield wiper issues at my oil change service. The fast swiping during intermittent, the 3 inches up hesitation, and the stopping in the middle of the windshield are getting to be much more frequent now. Dealer's service group again says "Cannot duplicate". I miss REAL MECHANICS! I had a similar issue with my 1996 Ford Ranger's windshield wipers except they were the opposite where they would come on whenever they felt like it and go off again by themselves. Once I replaced the turn signal/wiper arm, the problems stopped. I've mentioned this to the dealer; however, they still stand by "If our computer doesn't register a problem, we don't know what to fix." Very incompetent!

Same windshield wiper issues....fast swiping randomly during intermittent, hesitation about 3 inches up, stopping in the middle of the windshield when turning off, and a new symptom....when turning off, wipers still keep going until I fiddle with the wiper switch a few times!!! Dealer's service group states "Roadtest with wipers on could not verify concern", however, it was NOT RAINING WHILE MY CAR WAS THERE. They had it overnight. Very frustrating.

I complained about my windshield wiper issues during oil change service. Now the wipers are doing the fast swiping equally as much during all the intermittent wiper settings. And a new symptom where when I go to turn them off, they stop in the middle of the windshield instead of moving to the bottom of the windshield as they should. Also the hesitation at about 3 inches up is now also happening on full wiper mode. This is particularly upsetting when it's pouring down rain! Dealer's service group again says "Cannot duplicate". I was told that if their computers don't detect a problem, they cannot fix it! What happened to REAL MECHANICS!!!

I complained about it prior to my warranty running out. While wipers are on intermittent, they start to furiously swipe rather than intermittently. They also stop about 3 inches up for a few minutes before starting again. I checked this on all intermittent settings and it does it more on the #5 setting. Dealers' service group states "Cannot duplicate".
