Does anyone know anything about engine oil leaking slowly out of a 1992 Honda accord? Mechanic said it was building up slowly in exhaust system, with crud build up. I can smell it burning up when I drive. Its a fairly slow leak. I added half a quart just to be safe.

Leaking oil profusely. Top to bottom so it was causing it to smell(from the oil burning). Typically in cases of leaking oil you work it top to bottom. Have your valve cover gasket fixed, and the engine degreased with a quick spray/washing, that way you'll know if its still leaking or not. If it is, its the oil pan gasket. I've owned two 92 Accords, one there was a prob with the oil pan gasket, the other valve cover gasket.

Can anyone tell me how to diagnose a sudden and very large oil leak on a 1992 Honda Accord? It is leaking onto a part of the engine that gets very hot so it smokes when I drive it. But I still can't see the source of the leak.
