While in a drive thru line, the car started to overheat and was smoking. After parking the car, opening the hood - coolant was noticed sprayed all over the engine.
Now when the car is started and idling, the engine revs to above 2k rpm then slows to 1500, then back up above 2k, then back to 1500...idles high then low then high again. It overheats while idling too.
Not sure if it is a transmission problem, thermostat problem, water pump problem. Any suggestions would be great!

Accord DX 16 valve
I just bought a 1994 Accord DX and the right side cooling fan continues to run for about 3 minutes after the engine is shut off and key is removed. The engine gets very hot when driving for long periods of time, and especially when idling and when in park. The meter goes into red and even a little beyond. Meter seems to be working properly because the radiator does get extremely hot and even hiss when driven for a long time.
