I was driving on the interstate, going about 75 MPH when my car just shut off without warning, and would NOT turn back on. It was the scariest and most dangerous situation I have ever been in, and was a real pain in the ass to fix because we had no clue what caused it to happen. Turns out there was a wire that kept shorting out that was connected to the computer or something.

Needed a car and found the 1994 Honda Accord LX that needed some cleaning up. Detailed inside and out. Flushed transmission, changed oil, cleaned outside of engine, replaced leaking heater hose. Car running fine. Out Saturday and just dies in traffic. I'm driving along and it just dies! Three lanes traffic in each direction and I'm in center lane. Scary as anything you can imagine - screeching brakes people trying to avoid hitting me. Have hand out window waving for them to go around. Trying to restart. Two guys help push it off to side. Picked up from garage today. Mechanic said starter coil had popped off. They put it back on and car runs fine. Also one cooling fan not working & other stays on too much; think it's sensor but don't want to touch for now. I think my heart stopped when the car stopped. So many people stopped to lend a hand while I was waiting for tow truck. I was touched by their kindness. This is my only vehicle and I need it to be reliable. I will drive in lane nearest side of road / exit. Hope it doesn't happen again.
