CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2005 Honda Accord suffers from transmission failure. It's not a huge widesperad problem like in prior years, but definitely still something to consider.

The transmission begins slipping & eventually has to be replaced, typically soon after 90,000 miles & with a repair cost of over $2,000.

Transmission failure problems have been a huge problem for the Accord & several other Honda models all through the early 2000s model years. Honda eventually extended the transmission warranty to 93 months/109k miles for the 2000-2001 Accords as a class action lawsuit settlement, but owners of other Accord model years with transmission problems are out of luck.

1) the vehicle shakes at high speed. 2) the vehicle at slow speed sounds like the wheel bearings are grinding themselves down 3) the vehicle vibrates at slow and high speed but more so at high speed when pressing the brake peddle 4) the vehicle was brought to the dealership 3 times for these problems with the drive train and the brakes. Still after the third time of having new brakes and wheel bearing the vehicle continues to vibrate to such a manner as I feel it highly unsafe.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. While driving at 10 mph and attempting to make a right hand turn the brakes locked while being depressed. The vehicle slid into a ditch and struck a small gum tree. The middle portion on the front of the vehicle was damaged. The body shop repaired the vehicle, and the sensors showed that the air bags deployed. The dealer replaced the sensors. The current mileage is 39,000 and failure mileage was 6,000.

I was test driving a brand new 2005 Honda Accord LX model. During the test drive, while approaching a traffic signal that was about to turn red, I depressed the brake pedal, but the car did not respond. I continued to depress the pedal, with no response. Because of this I was not able to stop and struck another car in the intersection. I am filing this complaint to ensure the dealership ensures this problem is investigated.
