Accord EX-L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

I used to own a Honda CRX with 220K miles on it and the AC is still working perfectly fine. Now I purchased a brand new 2007 Honda Accord, drove it for more than a year and the AC already failed. AC condenser on 2007 is the dumbest design ever make by Honda. What a shame.

Ditto Y'all! My Accord was actually sitting around for a week, as we were away on vacation. When I got back... no AC. Took it in, "A rock must have hit the condenser, no that's not covered by the warranty, it'll be $1000, sorry." So what am I supposed to do now? Spend a grand so it can happen again? Trading this in next year is starting to sound pretty good.

Accord SE 2.4 L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,300 miles

Just brought a new 2007 Honda accord and only got 3300 miles on it, however, the A/C stopped working. I brought the car to the dealer today and they told me that the AC condenser was damaged by a rock and the repair cost was not covered by the warranty. The quo for the repair would be about 1200 (parts and labor). I believe that this is a problem that Honda should give a solution. Honda should recall the problem. It is not a problem of just one case. You are not the only one, go ahead and complain you problem. I am going to complain the problem directly with Honda.

My car doesn't even have 5000 miles yet and the AC has already broke. Due to road debris or not, when you have a significant amount of customers bringing in cars in due to this problem and some multiple occurrences to the same person, you can't just say "its a road debris hitting your condenser". A responsible company will take a deeper look into this design flaw and own up to their mistakes. Honda/Acura will NEVER get my BUSINESS again. Gonna trade in this piece of junk and get myself a Lexus.

I was driving with my family in my NEW Accord purchased BRAND NEW less than seven months ago when I noticed the A/C began to get warm and within about 5 minutes it was blowing hot air. I was a little upset as we about 50 miles from home and it was about 95 degrees out but figured not a huge problem I will just take it to the dealership and have the problem fixed under warranty, but when I got the call from the Dealer it was not covered under warranty due to the fact that the A/C condenser was damaged by some type of road debris. I went the dealer and asked to be shown the problem and the mechanic raised the car on the lift I could see a small amount of damage about half the size of a dime and the mechanic said it was leaking all the Freon out through this minute hole. When the car was up on the lift you can see where these huge opening allowing anything to enter and damage this extremely fragile material this A/C condenser is made of. My incident occurred in the summer and I only can imagine how many pebbles will ruin my A/C Condenser when winter comes and they start sanding the roads here in Colorado. I guess this problem will be something I have to worry about until I trade my Accord in on a NEW TOYOTA CAMRY. Honda's are supposed to be known for durability but from looking on this site I see this has been a problem from all the way back in 2003 and Honda has done nothing to address the problem.
