CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2008 Honda Accord has several serious defects: poor brakes, excessive oil consumption, & uncomfortable seats.

BRAKES: There was a class action lawsuit against Honda in 2010 for premature & excessive brake wear. See our page on Honda's brake problems for more info.

OIL CONSUMPTION: Honda issued a TSB about this in late 2011, claiming it could be fixed through a software update to the VCM (variable cylinder management). There are class action lawsuits pending. See our page about the Accord oil consumption.

UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS: Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight. The common theme we hear is "we never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.

If you have Blue/Gray smoke coming from your exhaust, and you have taken your Honda in and they continue to tell you to bring it in every 1K miles for "Oil Consumption Test," or if your having to continue to add oil, or your Honda has "FAILED" the oil consumption test, or Honda had to rebuild the Head of your engine, STOP!!!!

Contact Honda of America and let them know all that you have done and/or the problems you had and/or still have, so that they can do the right thing and recall at no cost to you and demand they extend the warranties on the problems of their manufactured cars to include the Brake problems that wear out prematurely brake pads and routers.

And then look up your state's "Lemon Law" with no cost to you for representation against Honda for defective products.

All you have to do is look up your car problem and you will see that there are many others out there with the same problems .

So until you do something about it other than continue the run around from the dealers as they instruct you to do, don't wait with more miles on your car, until your car is out of warranty and then the cost is all on you.

Make them stand up to their Great Reputation and take care of their customers and back up their cars instead of trying to brush this under the rug unnoticed to the buying consumers.
