Power Steering Fails While Driving
2013 Honda Accord (Page 2 of 2)
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Honda dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.
For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.
Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

This is the second time the electronic power steering has failed. The power steering was replaced about a year ago.
It failed again first on April 4 and again repeatedly every night last week. It happened the first time last week in a construction zone where the road turned and I barely averted hitting the concrete barrier. If it hadn't happened before (so I was aware of the total loss of power steering) the outcome could have been much worse.
Turning the car off and restarting it temporarily fixes the problem but it continues to happen. It is currently with the dealer who on Saturday could not find anything wrong with the power steering. Since the car is not safe to drive, they are keeping the car until they find the cause.
