CarComplaints.com Notes: Buying the first model year of any vehicle is rarely a good idea. You become a guinea pig for the automaker and they are really not nice to guinea pigs.

The 2008 Enclave has a wide enough range of problems to issue a warning. There's transmission failure under 90k miles, new power steering units costing over $1,300, and enough engine complaints to NHTSA to scare anyone away.

Power lock doesn't work (drivers side door only). Problem may be related to clogged drain lines to the sunroof.

central locking fails. trapped in car

Unlike many on the site, we have had good luck with our Buick, which was purchased new. However, this failure is a very serious problem. Being trapped in the car with NO WAY out is about as dangerous as it gets. The really scary thing is it has not happened enough to have a corrective action yet. I'll have to go to the dealer and hope they exhibit some technical capability. I don't trust dealers. fob doesn't work, door switches don't work, drivers door sometimes locks and you cant even pull up on the lock button near the window to get out. I'm going to do a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. We'll see.
