Enclave CXL V6

So I bought my Enclave 2009 in Oct 2014. Loved it. Drove round trip 10 hrs to get it. Last month 2/20/14 my car won't go in reverse here and there. Then it started slipping. Had to replace transmission with a rebuilt cost $4080 out of my pockets because it is one year out of warranty. Hurt like hell paying that.

Then after picking up the car I noticed that the ride was really bad. The front suspension was bottoming out. Took back to dealer and they said it's from being up on the lift. The o-ring in the strut wears out and when up on the lift it allows the oil to go past the o-ring. Even when doing an oil change it will do this. There is nothing we can do maybe leave it in our garage to let it warm up then drive it over a bunch of bumps to try to get the oil back in place was their answer.

Other than that, replacing the struts which is $700 to $800 to replace. Are you kidding me? After paying almost $4100 they are looking to get another $800 out of me for something they did leaving up on the hoist for 4 days? This was at the Chevy dealer.

I have owned 7 GM cars and trucks over the years, but at this point it might as well be my last. Really at 82000 miles the transmission goes out then the struts due to the dealer leaving it up so long in the air. I spent the most I have every paid on this Enclave and it's a real disappointment on quality of parts.

Update from Jun 28, 2015: Found out from friend not the dealer that there is an extended warrenty issuesed by GM on these 6 speed transmittions. Year 2008 and 2009. the warrenty is now 120,000 miles 10 years. I found out I could fill out a form with my reciept and should recive back most of my money paid. Thank God. So if you want to know more call you dealer and ask them about the rembersment form for your transmittion.

Enclave CXL V6

  • Automatic transmission

I bought the car in March 2014 at Cerritos Ford, the dealer said it was still under manufacturer warranty and suggested I purchase GAP insurance. In August 2014 the transmission started slipping and wouldn't go into reverse. They didn't tell me the warranty was expiring in June.

However, they knew the transmission was having problems when they sold it to me because GMC rep told me the car was in the shop for transmission issues a week before I bought the car. GMC didn't honor the warranty because it expired in June. So I'm out of a $6000 down payment, plus $4200 in repairs, plus rental car cost, plus car payments. They have caused me a great hardship and possibly a repo. This takes the cake, I was not expecting to have such an horrible experience from two major companies. I'm definitely not a satisfied customer of either, plus, Cerritos Ford treated me really cold and acted as if I wasn't an asset to their business any longer once they got my money. They were very rude, nonchalant non-caring, nor remorseful that they sold me a car with a very bad transmission. I expected that their quality of service would be way better, after all they gave me red carpet treatment when they were trying to get my money. After that, the carpet mildewed and turned black. It took them a month to even have someone contact me, smh. First of all the dealer knew there were issues with this transmission, that's why they didn't sell me the warranty that I kept asking for, plus GMC knows these cars are known for transmission issues. Between the two of them they should fix the car, but that's too much like right I guess.
